At AirLyft, we're committed to providing a seamless and secure experience for our users. We value your privacy and have always strived to minimize the permissions we request. However, recent changes in the Twitter API landscape have required us to make some adjustments to our integration with the platform.
Previously, we relied on the V1 Twitter APIs, which allowed us to access information about user actions, such as likes, retweets, and follows. This approach worked well as it only required "read" permissions from our participants. Users would simply perform the required actions on Twitter, then return to AirLyft to verify their completion. Unfortunately, the V1 API has now been deprecated by Twitter, and we had to adapt to the new V2 APIs. These changes limit our ability to read user action information directly. As a result, we've had to implement a revised method that requires additional permissions.
When signing in or connecting your Twitter account with AirLyft, you will now be asked to grant the following permissions, irrespective of whether this is the first time you're accessing AirLyft with your twitter account or just connecting it again:
Things this App can view…
1. All the Tweets you can view, including Tweets from protected accounts.
2. Any account you can view, including protected accounts.
Things this App can do…
1. Stay connected to your account until you revoke access.
2. Like and un-like Tweets for you.
3. Follow and unfollow people for you.
4. Tweet and Retweet for you.
With this, when as a participant you verify "Follow", "Retweet", & "Like" actions AirLyft also performs this action for you.
We understand that these expanded permissions may raise concerns about your privacy and data security. Rest assured, at AirLyft, we take your privacy seriously and maintain the highest security standards. We are committed to protecting your data and ensuring that it is not shared with any third parties. If you'd like to learn more about how we handle your data, please refer to our privacy policy.
We also understand that these changes may require an adjustment from our users, but we believe that this updated integration will still provide a seamless experience. We're dedicated to delivering the best possible service while respecting your privacy. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these changes in the Twitter API landscape. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team on support@kyte.one or by opening a support ticket on our Discord.
Thank you for being a valued member of the AirLyft community.
Sincerely,
Muiz Nadeem, Cofounder, AirLyft.
